Holding it down in Earth and being the gust of wind in Air, JJ Gerber’s diverse dance training spans many years. From ballroom, to breakdancing, to jazz, hip hop and stepping, JJ has been part of may dance groups performing in Times Square NY, the Rogers Centre in Toronto, and being featured on the Juno award winning Toronto Mass Choir's CD ‘The Live Experience’.
He is the face of Splinter for the Christian kids band ‘God Rocks’ (Crossroads TV), and currently dances with the number one step team in Canada “Black Ice” where he has been featured on BET's Spring bling, Much Music's New.music.live., the Grey Cup half-time show, the movie ‘How she move’ with Tre' Armstrong, and the 2010 Winter Olympics.
From music videos with Kardinal Offishal, Solitaire, Aleesia, Alex J Robinson and shows with Nicole Arbour, Travis Wall, Kirk Franklin, to providing dance coaching to celebrities including Justin bieber, Jully Black, comedian Russell Peters, Aiden Church (Dream Girls, Lion King), JJ continues to constantly push boundaries in his work.
Now pushing his singing career to the next level, he has performed with various artists including Shawn Desman, Jeff Madden (Frank Valli in the Toronto production of Jersey Boys), Yvan Pedneault (Rock of Ages) and Reverse.Completing a Math degree at Queen’s University with the hopes of becoming a Math teacher doesn’t seem to stop Kristian Dalisay from pursuing his love for dance. From simply watching music videos and youtube in high school, his love for dance grew more during his years at Queens University where he danced and taught classes with the FLOW dance Club.
Kristian has worked with the Toronto group Artists in Motion performing at many large events including ‘Bazaar’, ‘Breaks, Beats & Culture’ at Harbourfront, ‘Project Dance’ for Pride weekend, and ‘World Partnership Walk”. He has appeared with Canadian artists Danny Fernandes, Nicole Arbour, Alyssa Reid, and most recently Kirk Franklin.
A strong freestyler, Kristian continues to experiment and grow in all aspects of dance as he trains in as many styles as possible. He is set on discovering a better understanding of not only dance as an art, but himself as an artist. Catch Kristian in Earth and Air at The 5th Element.
Powerful and energetic dancing in Earth and Air, Hollywood brings his own flavour and personality to the stage – thereby inspiring others to do the same. As Hollywood always says "Success lies on the other side of fear" It is because of living this motto both onstage and offstage that he truly shines in Catalyst production “The 5th Element."
One of Toronto’s most exciting entertainers, Hollywood has found ways to bring his own creativity and style of dancing to videos, stages and the big screen. His greatest achievements thus far including working with the industry’s best Choreographers Fatima Robinson, Rich & Tone, Jamal Sims, AJ, and Michael Rooney.
You have seen him in the blockbuster music "Hairspray" where he plays the character of “Stooie”, or on the hit TV show “So You Think You Can Dance Canada” as both a dancer and a choreographer’s assistant. He is the only contestant in history of the show to achieve this in the same year.
As a Choreographer he has created exciting and groundbreaking routines for various entertainment arenas including Much Music, BET and MTV, short films, corporate events, tours and videos. You can catch him work begin featured with the likes of The Dream, Snoop Dogg, Ludacris and a number of Canadian and international artist like Divine Brown, Kelis and Lauren Pritchard.
Always challenging himself both mentally and physically, Shavar is training in Ballet, Contemporary, and Ballroom with Cadence Progressive Ballet while also creating hip hop pieces that take audiences on a journey to experience dance in one of its most rawest, purest and original forms.
In time, Shavar would like to create a world for dancers that craves creativity and inspires success by understanding dance not just as an art but a way of life. On his way to becoming Canada’s most versatile and dynamic dancers/choreographers, Shavar incredible talents are honed in Catalyst “The 5th Element."
